Luxembourg is a country where people think they know “everybody”, because the country is so small. That is not true. There are so many new people coming in every day to Luxembourg, and some of them are looking to meet a new partner, as moving countries can also mean starting a new chapter in life.
One phenomenon I observed when I started Luxdates, is that there is very little osmosis between social circles. People tend to stay within the circles they have established, be it through work, sports, social activities, nationality, or leisure.
Since 1961, the proportion of Luxembourgers grew by 14.7%. The proportion of foreigners, on the other hand, grew by a whopping 594.5%.
I wanted to change this. Nobody “knows everybody”, not even Luxembourgers who were born here, know everybody.
What I do in my practice, is bringing people together who otherwise would not have met. The population has expanded greatly over the last couple of years and continues to do so.
Out of all the couples I have created so far, only two knew each other (but weren’t aware that the other one was single!). All the other ones were moving in different circles, and, without me, never would have met.
